Peru

Peru is a kaleidoscope of faces, experiences, and adventures. From the Amazon, to Machu Picchu, to Cusco, to Colca Canyon, the scenes change dramatically, as does your interaction with the environment and your physical involvement with the changing scenes around you. Regardless of whether you are actively pursuing an upward trail, scaling a ruin, watching the rainbow of color from the beautiful hats and costumes, or just sitting still absorbing the nature around you, Peru never fails to enchant.
Around every corner, every bend of the river, and every cliff of the canyon, there is something else to capture your imagination. I found Machu Picchu so magical, and so hypnotic, that I spent several hours early one morning just sitting quietly photographing and absorbing the intense beauty of the place before I could tear myself away. I was also extremely moved by the majesty and the immense size of the condors in Colca Canyon. Never have I come in close contact with such a magnificent feathered creature. And another incredible creature I discovered was the Peruvian dancing horse! What a thrill to climb astride this beauty and ride along the trail! And just to watch the gait of the horse ahead was pure pleasure! But most of all, I was drawn to the warm, wonderful faces of the people and the hospitality they extended to their guests. May I be fortunate enough to return to the wonderful land of Peru and re-discover the varied pleasures to be found there!
