Flo Banks began her love of travel when she became a certified scuba diver and frequently went diving on the beautiful reefs of the Florida Keys, the Bahamas, Hawaii, Mexico and the Cayman Islands.
Flo also loves cruising. The U.S. Virgin Islands and the British Virgin Islands are among her favorite island destinations: St. Thomas has great shopping; Virgin Gorda has The Baths; Antigua, St. Barths and St. Maarten are unbelievably beautiful. Flo believes an Alaskan cruise is something everyone should experience at least once. The wildlife you can see just from the ship is awesome and the sights of majestic glaciers leave you speechless. While in the area, Seattle and Vancouver are wonderful cities to explore.
She has traveled to Egypt, stood in the shadow of the Great Pyramids and the Sphinx, walked into the tombs and touched the Hieroglyphic-laden walls of the greatest Egyptian Pharaohs, and cruised the beautiful Nile River. A tour of Jordan allowed her to stand on Mt. Moab where Moses viewed the Promise Land. A swim in the Dead Sea made her a believer about not being able to drown in the heavy sea of salt, but it was the beautiful night view of the twinkling city lights of Jericho, Jerusalem and Bethlehem across the Dead Sea that took her breath away. The ancient city of Petra was awe-inspiring, and the famous Treasury came to life as the blinding morning sun struck the red clay walls and turned them golden, just as it did in the Harrison Ford movie Indiana Jones!
Returning from Egypt, an extra long stop-over in Dubai presented the chance for an amazing tour of that extraordinary city. At night, the lights of the infamous Burj Al Arab hotel made it look like a gigantic sail floating on the Arabian Sea.
Last year, Flo walked on the Great Wall of China and visited the 2008 Olympic Games Site in Beijing, toured the original excavation site of the Terra Cotta Warriors in Xi’an, cruised the Yangzi River, and shopped in Shanghai and Hong Kong.
This year presented the opportunity to cruise the Baltic Sea from Copenhagen to Stockholm, with 3 days in St. Petersburg, Russia, an amazing city steeped in history and culture. It was almost unbelievable to be standing in the Hermitage Museum in front of original Picasso and Monet paintings, and to be strolling the palace halls and gardens of Peterhof and the Catherine Palace. It was also thrilling to ride St. Petersburg’s modern metro (subway), which is 300 ft. below the city streets and built upon marsh.
Flo is in love with traveling the world and wants to share that love of adventure with you. Soon, she will be cruising from Rome to Monte Carlo with beautiful ports of call in Spain. Later this year, she is joining other agents in Kenya on a safari to experience first hand the thrill of Africa, so she can help her clients plan that trip of a lifetime.
